I’m Karen. I’m a qualitative social social science researcher and writer. currently work at dscout as a writer and Original Research Lead. I’m passionate about ethical research practices. My goal is to collaborate with participants, community members and stakeholders to help under-told stories resonate deeply with new audiences.
I’m a sociolinguist by academic training. My areas of concentration include discourse analysis, gender differences in linguistic behavior and perception, and media discourses of linguistic difference. I’m most known for my work with Dr. Carmen Fought about language and gender in children’s animated films.
